Ingredients

  • 68 crispy fried chicken tenders
  • 3 cups chopped romaine lettuce
  • 1/2 cup dill pickles plus a few splashes of brine
  • 1/4 cup sliced red onion
  • 4 hoagie rolls (soft sesame hoagies preferred)
  • 4 tablespoons butter (for toasting rolls)
  • Alabama White BBQ Sauce
  • 1 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or less)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together all Alabama white BBQ sauce ingredients until smooth. Taste and adjust.
  2. Warm the chicken tenders until hot and crispy.
  3. Split hoagie rolls and toast with butter until golden and crisp. Set aside.
  4. On a large cutting board, layer lettuce, pickles, red onion, and warm chicken.
  5. Chop everything together until a chopped-salad texture forms.
  6. Drizzle BBQ sauce over the mixture and chop and fold until creamy and well coated.
  7. Stuff the chopped mixture generously into toasted hoagie rolls.
  8. Add an extra drizzle of sauce and serve immediately.
