Description
Blackberry Thyme Lemonade is a refreshing, lightly herbal drink perfect for summer. Sweet blackberries combine with zesty lemon juice and fragrant thyme to create a flavorful beverage in just 25 minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh blackberries
- 6-8 sprigs of fresh thyme
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 6-8 lemons)
- 1 cup sugar (for syrup)
- 1 cup water (for syrup)
- 5 cups cold water
- Ice cubes
- Additional blackberries and thyme sprigs for garnish
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine sugar and 1 cup water. Heat over medium heat until sugar dissolves completely to make a simple syrup. Add thyme sprigs while syrup is warm and let steep for 5 minutes. Remove thyme and cool syrup.
- In a blender, combine blackberries, lemon juice, and cooled simple syrup. Blend until smooth.
- Strain mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds if desired.
- Pour into a pitcher and add 5 cups cold water. Stir well.
- Add ice cubes to glasses, pour lemonade over, and garnish with fresh blackberries and thyme sprigs.
- Serve chilled and enjoy.
Notes
- Adjust sweetness by adding more or less sugar to the syrup.
- Letting the thyme steep in the syrup enhances the herbal flavor.
- Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
