Description

Breakfast Pizza Hash Brown Crust features a golden, crispy hash brown base topped with eggs, cheese, and classic breakfast vegetables. It’s a hearty, satisfying, and meat-free breakfast perfect for slow mornings or brunch gatherings.

Ingredients

  • Hash Brown Crust
  • 4 cups frozen shredded hash browns, thawed and squeezed dry
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Toppings
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled plant-based sausage or vegetarian bacon (optional)
  • 1/2 cup diced bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and lightly grease a 12-inch ovenproof skillet or pizza pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix hash browns, melted butter, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Press the mixture firmly into the prepared pan, forming a crust with slightly raised edges.
  4. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Remove crust from oven and evenly sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Add optional vegetarian sausage, bell pepper, and green onions.
  7. Use a spoon to make four shallow wells in the toppings.
  8. Crack one egg into each well and season with paprika, salt, and pepper.
  9. Return to oven and bake for 10–12 minutes, until egg whites are set.
  10. Cool for 3 minutes, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

  • For a fully vegetarian dish, use plant-based sausage or omit entirely.
  • Egg doneness can be adjusted by baking slightly longer or shorter.
  • Serve with hot sauce or fresh herbs for extra flavor.
