Ingredients

    • For the Cake:
    • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • ½ cup light brown sugar
    • 1 tsp baking powder
    • ½ tsp baking soda
    • ½ tsp salt
    • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1 cup buttermilk
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract

    • For the Caramel Cream Filling:
    • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
    • ½ cup caramel sauce
    • ¼ cup powdered sugar
    • ½ cup heavy cream, whipped

  • For the Caramel Glaze:
  • ½ cup caramel sauce
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Make the Cake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8-inch round cake pan. Whisk together flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add melted butter, eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla. Mix until smooth. Pour into pan and bake 28–32 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
  2. Prepare the Caramel Cream Filling: Beat cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth. Add caramel sauce and mix. Fold in whipped cream. Keep chilled.
  3. Make the Caramel Glaze: Warm caramel sauce with heavy cream and sea salt until pourable. Stir until smooth.
  4. Assemble: Slice cake in half horizontally. Spread caramel cream on the bottom layer. Top with second layer. Pour warm caramel glaze over cake, letting it drip down sides.
  5. Serve: Chill 30 minutes before slicing for best texture. Enjoy a rich, creamy caramel dream!

Notes

  • Use good-quality caramel sauce for best flavor.
