Ingredients
- 4 large russet potatoes, peeled and chopped
- ½ cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- ½ lb ground beef (halal)
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ¼ cup chopped parsley
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Boil potatoes in salted water until tender. Drain and mash with milk, butter, salt, and pepper. Let cool.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet. Sauté onion and garlic for 2 minutes.
- Add ground beef, paprika, oregano, and chili flakes. Cook until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
- Stir in cheddar cheese and parsley. Let mixture cool slightly.
- Flatten mashed potatoes in your hand, add 1 tablespoon beef filling, seal, and shape into a patty.
- Roll patties in flour, dip in egg, then coat in breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil over medium heat and fry patties 3–4 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
- Drain on paper towels and serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

- Let mashed potatoes and filling cool before shaping for best results.
