Description

Get ready to indulge in the festive spirit with these Christmas Cookie Bars. They combine the best elements of cookies and bars into one rich, chewy, and crowd-pleasing holiday treat—perfect for parties, gifting, or cozy nights at home.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1/2 cup festive sprinkles (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang for easy removal.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. In a large bowl, cream butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
  7. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts, if using.
  8. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then lift out and cool completely on a wire rack.
  11. Cut into bars and serve.
