Description
This easy homemade Peach Jam Recipe is made without pectin and is packed with fresh peach flavor. Sweet, simple, and perfect for spreading on toast, biscuits, or adding to your favorite desserts.
Ingredients
- 3 1/2 pounds peaches, peeled, pitted, and cut into chunks
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- Juice of 1 lemon
Instructions
- Add the peaches and lemon juice to a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, mashing the peaches to your desired consistency.
- Reduce the heat to medium and stir in the sugar until dissolved.
- Bring the mixture back to a full rolling boil, stirring frequently.
- Continue cooking for 15–25 minutes, stirring often, until the jam thickens and reaches your desired consistency.
- Remove from the heat and allow the jam to cool.
- If the jam is thinner than desired after cooling, return it to a boil for about 10 more minutes, then cool again.
- Transfer the cooled jam to clean jars and refrigerate or process for long-term storage if desired.
Notes
- Cook longer for a thicker jam.
- The final yield depends on the juiciness of the peaches and cooking time.
- Lemon juice naturally helps the jam set without added pectin.
