Ingredients
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 3 eggs (room temperature)
- 2 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups cake flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2/3 cup sour cream
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
- Mix sugar and melted butter until light and slightly fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then add vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, whisk cake flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in sour cream gently until smooth.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and sprinkle sugar on top.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool slightly before slicing and serving.
