Description

Garlicky Creamy Brussels Sprouts Au Gratin is a rich, cheesy, oven-baked side dish with tender sprouts, garlic cream sauce, and three types of melted cheese—perfect for holiday dinners.

Ingredients

  • 16 oz Brussels sprouts (trimmed and halved)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese (shredded)
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 1 cup fontina cheese (shredded)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. Trim and halve Brussels sprouts. Shred cheeses and mix together.
  3. In an oven-safe skillet, melt butter over medium heat and add garlic. Cook until fragrant but not browned.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in heavy cream, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and nutmeg.
  5. Stir in half of the cheese mixture until melted and combined.
  6. Add Brussels sprouts and mix to coat in the sauce, spreading evenly.
  7. Top with remaining cheese and bake for 18–25 minutes until bubbly and golden.

Notes

  • Use an oven-safe skillet for easiest one-pan cooking.
  • Don’t brown the garlic—just infuse it into the butter.
  • Pairs perfectly with chicken, turkey, or steak.
  • You can swap fontina with mozzarella if needed.
