Garlicky Creamy Brussels Sprouts Au Gratin is a rich, cheesy, oven-baked side dish with tender sprouts, garlic cream sauce, and three types of melted cheese—perfect for holiday dinners.
Ingredients
- 16 oz Brussels sprouts (trimmed and halved)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/8 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese (shredded)
- 1 cup cheddar cheese (shredded)
- 1 cup fontina cheese (shredded)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
- Trim and halve Brussels sprouts. Shred cheeses and mix together.
- In an oven-safe skillet, melt butter over medium heat and add garlic. Cook until fragrant but not browned.
- Remove from heat and stir in heavy cream, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and nutmeg.
- Stir in half of the cheese mixture until melted and combined.
- Add Brussels sprouts and mix to coat in the sauce, spreading evenly.
- Top with remaining cheese and bake for 18–25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
Notes
- Use an oven-safe skillet for easiest one-pan cooking.
- Don’t brown the garlic—just infuse it into the butter.
- Pairs perfectly with chicken, turkey, or steak.
- You can swap fontina with mozzarella if needed.
