Description

This Honey Glazed Salmon recipe has a sticky-sweet glaze and is easy to prepare in a skillet and finish in the oven, served perfectly with rice and broccoli.


Ingredients

  • Broccoli:
  • 1-2 tablespoons peanut oil (or vegetable oil)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • Salmon:
  • 1 ½ lbs salmon, cut into 4 filets (skin on or off)
  • ¼ teaspoon EACH: smoked paprika, salt, pepper, mustard powder, onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon peanut oil (or olive oil)
  • Sauce:
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • Pinch red pepper flakes
  • For Serving:
  • 3 cups cooked rice


Instructions

  1. Combine salmon seasonings in a small bowl.
  2. Mix sauce ingredients in a medium container and keep cool until ready.
  3. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  4. Heat oil in skillet, sauté broccoli for 4 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  5. Pat salmon dry and coat with seasonings. Sear in oil for 3 minutes (skin-side-down if applicable).
  6. Add sauce, bring to boil, thicken, then reduce heat and baste for 2 minutes.
  7. Add broccoli back to skillet.
  8. Transfer skillet to oven and bake 7 minutes. Broil for 1-2 minutes to caramelize top.
  9. Rest salmon 5-10 minutes before serving. Serve with rice.

Notes

  • Salmon should reach 145°F before serving. Let it rest to continue cooking slightly.
  • Use all chicken broth if preferred, or combine with beef broth for depth.
  • Optional: hot sauce, green onions, honey roasted peanuts, lemon wedges, toasted sesame seeds for garnish.
  • Cook rice with water and bouillon for extra flavor. Stand 10 minutes after cooking.
  • Store in airtight container up to 3 days.
