Description

A beloved holiday classic, this Irresistible Campbell’s Green Bean Casserole combines tender green beans, creamy mushroom sauce, and a golden, crispy onion topping. Simple, comforting, and perfect for Thanksgiving or any family gathering.

Ingredients

  • For the casserole:
  • 1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 4 cups cut green beans (from 2 cans, 1 lb fresh, or one 16 oz frozen package)
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • For the topping:
  • 1 1/3 cups crispy French fried onions, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the condensed cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, black pepper, and green beans. Stir until evenly coated.
  3. Fold in 2/3 cup of the crispy French fried onions and mix lightly.
  4. Pour the mixture into a 1½-quart baking dish and spread evenly.
  5. Bake uncovered for 25 minutes, until hot and bubbling.
  6. Remove from oven, stir the mixture gently, and top with the remaining fried onions.
  7. Return to the oven and bake for another 5 minutes, or until the onions are golden brown and crispy.
  8. Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm and creamy!

Notes

  • Use low-sodium soy sauce and soup for a lighter version.
  • For extra flavor, add a dash of garlic powder or a sprinkle of shredded cheddar before baking.
