Ingredients
- 8 fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup organic sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup butter, sliced
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup brown sugar, lightly packed
- 1 cup butter (2 sticks)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour and brown sugar. Add 1 cup butter and mix until the mixture becomes crumbly.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
- Place the peeled and sliced peaches into a large bowl and toss with the sugar mixture until evenly coated.
- Transfer the peaches to a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Scatter the remaining 1/4 cup sliced butter over the peaches.
- Spread the crumb topping evenly over the fruit.
- Bake uncovered for 45–55 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream if desired.
