Description
This peanut butter chicken is a simple and delicious dinner that only takes about 15 minutes to make from start to finish! Not only is it even tastier than takeout, but it is so much healthier! Serve it with rice, noodles, or veggies for a complete family-friendly meal!
Ingredients
- 1½ lb chicken breast (cut into bite-sized pieces)
- 3 tablespoon cornstarch (or almond flour)
- ¼ cup peanut butter
- ¼ cup hoisin sauce (or teriyaki sauce)
- 3 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic (minced)
- â…” cup water
- 2 tablespoon cooking oil
- ½ tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
- 1 tablespoon green onions (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, toss chicken with cornstarch until well coated.
- Mix peanut butter, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, and water in a separate bowl.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook chicken for 5–6 minutes until no longer pink.
- Pour sauce into skillet and stir until chicken is fully coated. Cook 4–5 minutes until thickened.
- Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Use natural peanut butter for best results.
- Cook chicken in batches if needed for even browning.
- Adjust sauce seasoning to taste before cooking.
- Store in fridge up to 4–5 days or freeze up to 6 months.
