Description

Pepper Steak with Bell Peppers and Onion is a savory and colorful stir-fry featuring tender beef slices, crisp bell peppers, and onions tossed in a rich soy-oyster sauce. A quick and flavorful dish perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef steak (sirloin, flank, or ribeye), thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup beef broth or water
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Add beef and marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a skillet or wok over high heat. Sear beef in batches for 1–2 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  3. Add remaining oil to the pan, then sauté bell peppers and onion for 3–4 minutes.
  4. Add garlic and ginger and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Return beef to the pan and add beef broth. Stir well.
  6. Cook for 2–3 minutes until sauce slightly thickens.
  7. Season with salt and pepper if needed and serve hot.

Notes

  • Slice beef thinly against the grain for tenderness.
  • Marinate at least 15 minutes for best flavor.
  • Use colorful bell peppers for better taste and presentation.
  • Serve immediately over rice or noodles.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for 2–3 days and reheated gently.
