Description
Pepper Steak with Bell Peppers and Onion is a savory and colorful stir-fry featuring tender beef slices, crisp bell peppers, and onions tossed in a rich soy-oyster sauce. A quick and flavorful dish perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef steak (sirloin, flank, or ribeye), thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 1/4 cup beef broth or water
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Add beef and marinate for 15 minutes.
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in a skillet or wok over high heat. Sear beef in batches for 1–2 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- Add remaining oil to the pan, then sauté bell peppers and onion for 3–4 minutes.
- Add garlic and ginger and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Return beef to the pan and add beef broth. Stir well.
- Cook for 2–3 minutes until sauce slightly thickens.
- Season with salt and pepper if needed and serve hot.
Notes
- Slice beef thinly against the grain for tenderness.
- Marinate at least 15 minutes for best flavor.
- Use colorful bell peppers for better taste and presentation.
- Serve immediately over rice or noodles.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated for 2–3 days and reheated gently.
