The Best Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes are loaded with ground beef, sautéed peppers and onions, and melted provolone cheese. A fun twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak, perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded (or Cheez Whiz for a traditional touch)
- 4–6 hamburger buns
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add diced onion and green bell pepper; cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt.
- Reduce heat to low and sprinkle shredded provolone over the beef mixture. Cover to melt cheese, 2–3 minutes.
- Toast hamburger buns until lightly golden.
- Spoon beef and cheese mixture onto the bottom half of each bun. Top with the other half and garnish with parsley.
