Description
Valentine’s Thumbprint Cookies are buttery cookies with white chocolate centers and festive pink heart decorations—perfect for Valentine’s Day gifting or treats.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 1/2 cups flour, sifted
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 pkg White Chocolate Almond Bark
- Red food coloring gel
- Neon pink food coloring gel
- Assorted Valentine sprinkles (red, pink, white)
Instructions
- Blend butter and sugar until light and fluffy, then add vanilla.
- Sift flour and salt; gradually add to butter mixture until combined.
- Add red food coloring gel drop by drop until desired color is achieved.
- Roll dough into 1 1/2-inch balls and place on parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Press thumb or knuckle into center of each cookie to create indentation.
- Bake at 350°F for 20-25 minutes until lightly golden; cool completely on wire rack.
- Melt white chocolate almond bark and fill cookie centers; dip bottoms in melted chocolate and sprinkles.
- Melt remaining white chocolate, tint with neon pink gel, and decorate cookies with hearts and drizzle.
- Allow chocolate to set at least 1 hour before serving.
Notes
- White Chocolate Almond Bark melts smoothly and tastes better than most melting chocolates.
- If chocolate thickens, add a few drops of heavy cream to thin it.
