Description

These Vegan Cheeseburger Wraps are a quick and satisfying 30-minute dinner packed with savory meatless crumbles, melty vegan cheese, ketchup, mustard, pickles, lettuce, and tomato all wrapped in a warm tortilla. Perfect for a family-friendly vegan meal with classic cheeseburger flavor.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups onions, diced
  • 8 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 16 oz meatless crumbles
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons vegan Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 2 teaspoons liquid smoke
  • 4 large burrito-size tortilla shells
  • 1 cup vegan cheese
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • Lettuce, as needed
  • Pickles, as needed

Instructions

  1. Add the olive oil to a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the diced onions and spread them into an even layer. Let them cook for 1–2 minutes until nicely browned, then stir and repeat until softened and caramelized around the edges.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium and stir in the minced garlic.
  4. Add the meatless crumbles and cook for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Add black pepper to taste, then stir in the ketchup, yellow mustard, vegan Worcestershire sauce, and liquid smoke.
  6. Cook for another 3–5 minutes until the mixture is hot and well combined, then remove from the heat.
  7. Lay out a tortilla and add 1/4 cup vegan cheese to the bottom third. Top with sliced tomatoes, lettuce, and pickles.
  8. Spoon 1/4 of the meatless mixture over the toppings.
  9. Fold in the sides of the tortilla, then roll it up tightly from the bottom to form a wrap. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and filling.
  10. Optional: Toast the wraps on a grill, grill pan, or skillet until lightly crisp on the outside.
  11. Serve warm with ketchup, BBQ sauce, ranch, fries, or onion rings.

Notes

  • These make 4 very large wraps, but you can divide the filling into 8 smaller wraps if preferred.
  • For meltier vegan cheese, warm it slightly before adding it to the wraps.
  • You can use vegetable stock instead of oil if you want an oil-free version.
