Description
This burger bowl with house sauce is all the flavors of a classic burger served without the bun. Juicy seasoned beef, crispy sweet potato fries, fresh vegetables, and a creamy house sauce make this a satisfying, healthier 30-minute meal perfect for burger night.
Ingredients
- Sweet Potato Fries
- 2 large sweet potatoes, cut into matchsticks
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon seasoning salt
- Burger Bowls
- 1 1/2 pounds ground chuck (80% lean, halal-certified)
- 2 teaspoons seasoning salt
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 avocado, sliced
- Dill pickles, to taste
- 1/2 red onion, sliced
- 1 cup cherry or grape tomatoes, halved
- 4–6 cups chopped romaine or butter lettuce
- House Sauce
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (halal-certified or substitute coconut aminos)
- 2 teaspoons sriracha or BBQ sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 shallot, minced
- 1 garlic clove, minced
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F). Toss sweet potatoes with olive oil and seasoning salt.
- Spread on a baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes, flipping halfway through until crispy.
- Form ground beef into 4–6 burger patties and season both sides.
- Grill or pan-sear burgers for 4–5 minutes per side, or until fully cooked. Let rest.
- Divide lettuce into bowls and top with avocado, pickles, red onion, and tomatoes.
- Add cooked burger patties and sweet potato fries on top.
- Mix house sauce ingredients in a bowl until smooth.
- Drizzle sauce over bowls and serve immediately.
Notes
- Use ground beef with 20% fat for juicier burgers.
- Pan-searing works if you don’t have a grill.
- Swap Worcestershire with coconut aminos for a halal version.
- Sweet potatoes can be peeled or left unpeeled.
