Description
Gozleme with Spinach and Feta is a traditional Turkish flatbread filled with fresh spinach, creamy feta cheese, and warm spices, then pan-cooked until golden and crispy. It’s a light yet satisfying Mediterranean-inspired meal perfect for lunch, snack, or dinner.
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (plus extra for cooking)
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 200g fresh spinach, chopped
- 200g feta cheese, crumbled
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Lemon wedges (for serving)
Instructions
- Mix flour and salt in a bowl. Add olive oil and warm water, then form a soft dough.
- Knead for about 10 minutes until smooth. Cover and rest for 30 minutes.
- Mix spinach, feta, nutmeg, salt, and pepper in a bowl to make the filling.
- Divide dough into 4 portions and roll each into a thin circle.
- Spread filling on one half, leaving edges clear. Fold and seal tightly.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet and cook each gozleme 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
- Serve hot with fresh lemon wedges.
Notes
- Roll dough very thin for crispier texture.
- Add herbs like parsley or dill for extra flavor.
- Best served fresh and hot from the pan.
