Description

Gozleme with Spinach and Feta is a traditional Turkish flatbread filled with fresh spinach, creamy feta cheese, and warm spices, then pan-cooked until golden and crispy. It’s a light yet satisfying Mediterranean-inspired meal perfect for lunch, snack, or dinner.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (plus extra for cooking)
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 200g fresh spinach, chopped
  • 200g feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Mix flour and salt in a bowl. Add olive oil and warm water, then form a soft dough.
  2. Knead for about 10 minutes until smooth. Cover and rest for 30 minutes.
  3. Mix spinach, feta, nutmeg, salt, and pepper in a bowl to make the filling.
  4. Divide dough into 4 portions and roll each into a thin circle.
  5. Spread filling on one half, leaving edges clear. Fold and seal tightly.
  6. Heat olive oil in a skillet and cook each gozleme 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
  7. Serve hot with fresh lemon wedges.

Notes

  • Roll dough very thin for crispier texture.
  • Add herbs like parsley or dill for extra flavor.
  • Best served fresh and hot from the pan.
  • You can prep dough ahead for faster cooking.
