Description
This KFC Copycat Coleslaw is creamy, tangy, and perfectly crisp with finely chopped cabbage, carrots, and a sweet vinegar-mayo dressing just like the famous original.
Ingredients
- 1/2 head cabbage, finely chopped (about 4 cups)
- 1/2 medium carrot, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp buttermilk
- 4 1/4 tsp white vinegar
- 1 1/2 tbsp onion, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp whole milk
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 4 tsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3/8 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Finely chop cabbage and carrot using a food processor or by hand.
- Place chopped cabbage and carrot in a large mixing bowl.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together buttermilk, vinegar, onion, milk, mayonnaise, lemon juice, sugar, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Pour dressing over cabbage mixture and stir well to combine.
- Refrigerate at least 30 minutes before serving for best flavor.
- Stir again before serving.

- Chilling overnight improves flavor significantly.
- Food processor gives the most authentic fine texture.
