Description

This KFC Copycat Coleslaw is creamy, tangy, and perfectly crisp with finely chopped cabbage, carrots, and a sweet vinegar-mayo dressing just like the famous original.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 head cabbage, finely chopped (about 4 cups)
  • 1/2 medium carrot, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp buttermilk
  • 4 1/4 tsp white vinegar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp whole milk
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 4 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/8 tsp black pepper


Instructions

  1. Finely chop cabbage and carrot using a food processor or by hand.
  2. Place chopped cabbage and carrot in a large mixing bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together buttermilk, vinegar, onion, milk, mayonnaise, lemon juice, sugar, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  4. Pour dressing over cabbage mixture and stir well to combine.
  5. Refrigerate at least 30 minutes before serving for best flavor.
  6. Stir again before serving.

Notes

  • Chilling overnight improves flavor significantly.
  • Food processor gives the most authentic fine texture.
