Description

These oven-baked halal cabbage burgers are a crispy, juicy, and low-carb twist on classic burgers, featuring seasoned ground beef baked on tender cabbage slices with melted cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 head green cabbage (cut into 1-inch thick slices)
  • 1 lb halal ground beef
  • 1 medium onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise (halal-certified)
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for brushing cabbage)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Slice cabbage into 1-inch thick rounds, place on tray, brush with olive oil, and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  3. Mix halal ground beef with onion, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Form beef mixture into patties and place on top of each cabbage slice.
  5. Bake for 15–20 minutes until beef is cooked through.
  6. Remove from oven, spread mayonnaise and Dijon mustard over each patty, then top with cheese.
  7. Return to oven for 3–5 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use halal-certified sauces and cheese.
