Description

This halal slow cooker creamy tomato basil chicken is rich, comforting, and packed with flavor—tender chicken simmered in a creamy tomato basil sauce that’s perfect for pasta, rice, or low-carb sides.


Ingredients

  • 1 can diced tomatoes with Italian herbs (halal-friendly)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (halal-certified)
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 4 halal boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 2 lbs)
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil (chopped)
  • Grated parmesan-style halal cheese (for serving, optional)


Instructions

  1. Add diced tomatoes, marinara sauce, garlic, salt, Italian seasoning, basil, and pepper to a slow cooker and stir.
  2. In a bowl, whisk heavy cream with cornstarch until smooth, then pour into slow cooker.
  3. Add chicken breasts and press them into the sauce.
  4. Cook on low for 3–4 hours until chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. Shred slightly or leave whole, then stir in fresh basil.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning before serving.
